802.2? A Basic Definition
Developed by the IEEE, 802.2 defines a datalink layer standard used with 802.3, 802.4, 802.5 & 802.6. 802.2 adds several header fields to those normally used by the upper layer protocols. These fields identify what upper layer protocol is used in the frame and which network layer processes are the frames source and destination.
